Levi Jordan Plantation
Data from the "Shell and Bone
Carver's Cabin"
Artifact types found in Unit # 5 South,
55 West
By Level and by 1'x1' subunit
(How to read this table: for example, Subunit 3, Level 4
contained 6 DIFFERENT TYPES of artifacts).
Levels were excavated to a
depth of 1/10 of a foot. The unit was 5'x5', and subunits
within that were 1'x1'. The 5'x5' unit was subdivided
into 1'x1' subunits at level 3. See Method for more information about the excavation
methods used at this site.
Levels 1, 2, 9 and 10 were
excavated in 5' x 5' units, and were not subdivided into
1' x 1' subunits. Subunit #8 was excavated as a soil
sample; that is, artifacts were not separated from the
surrounding soil. Analysis is still under way for this
material; therefore, individual artifacts from subunit 8
are not included in this listing.
